Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif has submitted his nomination papers for the PM slot.
Shehbaz Sharif’s nomination papers were submitted by party leaders Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Doctor Darshan.
Following the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the lower House of the parliament, the Speaker announced the process for the prime minister’s election process.
Newly-elected Speaker Asad Qaiser said that the nomination papers can be filed until Thursday 2 PM, adding that the process of scrutiny will begin at 3PM.
In the NA session to be held on August 18, chances are that the new prime minister will be administered oath by President Mamnoon Hussain.
Asad Qaiser and Qasim Suri were respectively elected as the speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
