The Supreme Court has barred private medical colleges from directly enrolling students.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar passed the order while hearing a suo motu case regarding admissions in medical colleges in Lahore on Monday.
Registrar Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Dr. Muhammad Waseem submitted new admission policy to the court.
According to the new admission policy, admissions in the private medical colleges will be made through centralized admission policy.
Meanwhile, hearing another suo motu case, the Chief Justice ordered Shaheen Airlines to deposit twenty million rupees within one week for the payment of monetary compensation to the stranded passengers in China.
